The Mission of Motherhood: Touching Your Child's Heart for Eternity Book ~Give-Away

Years ago when attending on of Sally Clarkson’s seminars, I purchased a few of her books. One being The Mission of Motherhood: Touching Your Child’s Heart for Eternity. I finally got around to reading this book. Although my children are 16 and almost 15 respectively, this book has spoken to me and blessed me. Thank you Sally for your transparent words. Having a love for our Messiah Yeshua, in this book Sally teaches us the importance building our relationships with our children, how to nurture them in our every day activities, how to show love to our children when discipline is needed, and most importantly having YHWH/God in the center of our lives.

This book is divided into four parts
Part One: A Mother’s Calling
Part Two: A Mother’s Heart for Her God
Part Three: A Mother’s Heart for Her Children
Part Four: A Mother’s Heart for Her Home
Part Five: A Mother’s Heart for Eternity

I skimmed through some of the chapters but when it came to Part Three, “A Mother’s Heart for Her Children”, I felt compelled to read it. In this part, Sally shares a letter she received from a mom who applied the principle of choosing to spend time with her child over focusing on his behavior. This letter cemented the importance of time needed for building a relationship with our children just as we are to take time to build our relationship with our Heavenly Father and our Messiah Yeshua/Jesus.
I’d like to share this letter with you.

Dear Sally,

I wanted to share with you how God has used you in my life. Our oldest son, aged sixteen was going through a hard in his life. He rebelled against us in many ways. At some point in the fall, I was reminded of your seminar and pulled out my notes. The words you spoke took root and grew and bore fruit this year by God’s grace. I heeded your advice and committed to spending personal time with him as he rebelled. I prayed for ideas, did things differently, and prayed for understanding of my dear son.

I was able to let go of the “academics” with my son and his need to do well in school and simply focus on my relationship with him. I wanted him to know that I loved him and accepted him, no matter what, and that God loved him. As a result we spent many happy hours together talking in the kitchen, going on ‘dates’ fishing and to the movies. By the end of the year , we hadn’t accomplished much academically, but we had a great relationship.

Two weeks ago, my precious son unexpectedly died in his sleep and went to be with Jesus. (He apparently had an undetected heart problem.) In the first hours after his death, I cried out in joy over the gift God had given to me n this year together. Despite the challenges, heartaches, frustrations, tears and endless prayers, he knew how much I loved him, and I knew how much he loved me. I had been given a very precious gift of time spent with my son (sixteen wonderful years!) and I could honestly say I had no regrets.

If you feel you could benefit from this book, kindly comment below. I am giving away my copy of the book The Mission of Motherhood: Touching Your Child's Heart for Eternity by Sally Clarkson, which is in very good condition.  I would love for this book to be passed on to anyone who would like to read it.  Whomever reads this book will agree to mail it to the next person.  So please leave a comment below.

Note: Although I may not agree with all of the author's belief's, Sally Clarkson has much to offer toward being a godly mother.

No 'Poo Update, No Shampoo Method Ebook Review & GIVEAWAY!

    NO 'POO UPDATE
It has been five months since we've been using the no shampoo method, I’m pleased to share that we have been blessed with great results. Our previous post can be read here.  When we first started the no ‘poo method, we were simply using baking soda and water for washing hair and conditioning with apple cider vinegar and water. Having to go through some adjusting is not uncommon when switching from shampoo to the no 'poo method.  And through this period, we have made some positive individual changes.

    Oxygen Bleach Review and Giveaway!

When I think of Tropical Traditions Store, I think of the coconut products they offer such as coconut oil, coconut cream and coconut flakes. I recently had the opportunity to try another one of their products they offer, oxygen Bleach (non Clorinated). Yes, Tropical Traditions carries this product. You can also find Organic Raw Honey, Skin Care products and many more products.

I’ve been wanting to try the Oxygen Bleach for a long and was extremely pleased with the results. When I opened the 6 lb container, I was pleased to NOT inhale the icky smell that usually comes from liquid bleach. Oxygen Bleach is made up of white granules which dilutes in water very easily.  Not only is great on laundry, it is does not have a negative effect on the environment.

I decided to test the product on a few items:
    • My handmade cream colored dishcloths have become gray and dingy with many major staining that took over my cloths and I was hoping I could try to get them back to their original color. So I followed the instructions and soaked my dishcloths over night. When I saw some stains still there, I decided to change out the water, add some more granules and wait another day. I then placed the dishcloths on the bathroom counter and sprinkled some extra granules on some visible stains. I was determined to have everything removed. I was so pleased to see all of my stains gone and the color renewed!

    Before
    After
    • I also decided to try the Oxygen Bleach on a white undershirt with a visible stain. I simply wet the spot with water and added a paste of water and oxygen Bleach over the stain. The following day I noticed the stain completely gone.

Oxygen Bleach can be used in many other ways for cleaning. Here are a few ways.
     Laundry
    • In the laundry Oxygen Bleach is used to destain, deodorize, and whiten. It is very effective as a laundry presoak for heavily stained articles. For light soils add 1 ounce of Oxygen Bleach with your laundry detergent per load. For moderate soils use 2 ounces and for heavily soiled articles use 4 ounces.
    • To whiten and deodorize diapers add 4-6 ounces of Oxygen Bleach into the soak cycle. Soak in hot water for at least 30 minutes, or overnight, then complete wash cycle.
    • For whitening old linens and yellowed window shears, deodorizing and cleaning tennis shoes, or to get rid of yellow armpit stains on shirts: soak in 2 ounces of Oxygen Bleach per gallon of water for at least one hour, or overnight, then rinse.
    Kitchen
    • For stained plastic ware, dishes, dish rags and dish towels add 1-2 ounces of Oxygen Bleach to the container to be cleaned or to the dishwater and soak for at least 15 minutes.
    • To keep your drains and disposals clear and smelling fresh add 1 ounce of Oxygen Bleach in 8 ounces of hot water and allow solution to sit in drain overnight.
For more information on how the Oxygen Bleach can be used, click here.

Tropical Traditions has graciously extended an offer to give away one (1) 6 1b container to one of my readers! How exciting is that! Giveaway open to residents of the United States and Canada.

Organic Coconut Cream Concentrate Review and Give-Away!

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO READ THE REVIEW.

Hello today, I’m happy to be able to share a review on Tropical Traditions’ Organic Coconut Cream Concentrate. Its Pebble Crossing’s first time reviewing one of their products.  They have gladly sponsored this giveaway. Some years back as we refined our eating habits we introduced Coconut Cream Concentrate as part of our food choices.  We love the concentrate for its flavor, nutrition and uses.

Whenever I receive products from Tropical Traditions, they are always packaged well to ensure safe delivery. Especially the glass jars.  I've always had prompt service on all my orders.

Coconut Cream Concentrate is 70% fat, its a rich source of pure coconut oil, It has a very creamy consistency. Because it has dried coconut meat, t is not considered a cooking oil. An important note to remember is that this product has no additives and no preservatives at all. It is 100% natural coconut made from certified organic Philippine coconuts grown without pesticides or fertilizers.

When we first ordered the Coconut Cream Concentrate, we would eat it by the spoon. We’ve used this product many times in our smoothies, which has made the taste yummier. If you enjoy coconut flavor, you’ll enjoy adding this coconut cream. We’ve also used it as a spread on a piece of bread. Tropical Traditions says that if you add Coconut Cream to soups it will give it a creamy (non-dairy) flavor. One thing we’ve yet to try is making ice cream with it. Please be sure to visit the Free recipes at Free Coconut Recipes. You’ll be able to view recipes using coconut flour, coconut oil, coconut chips. I’ve seen some I would love to try How about Coconut Cream Red Lentil Soup, or Amazing Coconut Carrot Cake?

Upon ordering the Coconut Cream Concentrate, you will notice a layer of oil on top. Tropical Traditions has a great video showing you how to melt the oil and stir the oil back in. That video was a big help to us in the past.

One of Pebble Crossing followers will be able to receive their own free copy of Virgin Coconut Oil book, complementary of Tropical Traditions by visiting here .
