How We Can Help the families of Joplin!

Marie Madelaine Studio, a family owned store that offers fabrics and patterns would like to help fellow in state families in the city of Joplin, Missouri who have recently experienced the devasting disaster by the Tornado.  They would like to include you too!

They would like volunteers to help in making quilts.

  • They are needing to collect fabric scraps from anyone who is willing to ship them to us. (Nothing smaller than 13" squares, please.)    Please ship to: the Long ladies, PO Box 574, Seneca, MO 64865
  • They are also collecting Queen or King-sized flat sheets (new or gently used) to be used as quilt backing.
  • And they are asking for volunteers... if they sent you enough squares to make a quilt top, would you sew it together for them?
The whole idea is to make as many quilts as possible for these families who don't have anything left. It seems like the least we can do. Their will be updates on the Joplin Quilt Project on their blog, www.mariemadelinestudio.typepad.com. The Long Ladies are encouraging you to re-post this, facebook it, twitter it, or whatever you like.

Leah and I will be helping them by taking part in sewing quilt tops, we are encouraged to offer our help since we are not able to physically go to Joplin.

If you are feeling led to take part in this, and would like to volunteer your hands for together quilt tops or quilting, please contact Marie Madelaine Studio by telephoning (417-775-2181) or email to Marie Madelaine Studio.
