Oxygen Bleach Review and Giveaway!

When I think of Tropical Traditions Store, I think of the coconut products they offer such as coconut oil, coconut cream and coconut flakes. I recently had the opportunity to try another one of their products they offer, oxygen Bleach (non Clorinated). Yes, Tropical Traditions carries this product. You can also find Organic Raw Honey, Skin Care products and many more products.

I’ve been wanting to try the Oxygen Bleach for a long and was extremely pleased with the results. When I opened the 6 lb container, I was pleased to NOT inhale the icky smell that usually comes from liquid bleach. Oxygen Bleach is made up of white granules which dilutes in water very easily.  Not only is great on laundry, it is does not have a negative effect on the environment.

I decided to test the product on a few items:
  • My handmade cream colored dishcloths have become gray and dingy with many major staining that took over my cloths and I was hoping I could try to get them back to their original color. So I followed the instructions and soaked my dishcloths over night. When I saw some stains still there, I decided to change out the water, add some more granules and wait another day. I then placed the dishcloths on the bathroom counter and sprinkled some extra granules on some visible stains. I was determined to have everything removed. I was so pleased to see all of my stains gone and the color renewed!

Before
After
  • I also decided to try the Oxygen Bleach on a white undershirt with a visible stain. I simply wet the spot with water and added a paste of water and oxygen Bleach over the stain. The following day I noticed the stain completely gone.

Oxygen Bleach can be used in many other ways for cleaning. Here are a few ways.
 Laundry
  • In the laundry Oxygen Bleach is used to destain, deodorize, and whiten. It is very effective as a laundry presoak for heavily stained articles. For light soils add 1 ounce of Oxygen Bleach with your laundry detergent per load. For moderate soils use 2 ounces and for heavily soiled articles use 4 ounces.
  • To whiten and deodorize diapers add 4-6 ounces of Oxygen Bleach into the soak cycle. Soak in hot water for at least 30 minutes, or overnight, then complete wash cycle.
  • For whitening old linens and yellowed window shears, deodorizing and cleaning tennis shoes, or to get rid of yellow armpit stains on shirts: soak in 2 ounces of Oxygen Bleach per gallon of water for at least one hour, or overnight, then rinse.
Kitchen
  • For stained plastic ware, dishes, dish rags and dish towels add 1-2 ounces of Oxygen Bleach to the container to be cleaned or to the dishwater and soak for at least 15 minutes.
  • To keep your drains and disposals clear and smelling fresh add 1 ounce of Oxygen Bleach in 8 ounces of hot water and allow solution to sit in drain overnight.

  1. One thing that they hadn't mentioned that I have used Oxygen bleach for is this: I have ceramic white kitchen sink and this stuff works great removing coffee and tea stains in the sink!! I also only use it in the laundry. :)

  5. I'm dying to try to whiten some old linens with it. I've heard people had good results with the OxyClean product, but don't want to use the chlorine bleach.
