Shabbat Shalom Link Up-Praise!

We are glad you have joined us for Shabbat Shalom.  This link-Up is a place to share, encourage, and to bless each of you during this day of Shabbat rest. And we couldn't do this without you all sharing your personal links.

I'd like to share one of the bible study booklets which has blessed us tremendously. I'm including only a small snippet.  To read more, scroll down below for the link.   May you be blessed as we have been.

Lesson #4 PRAISE: The Power and Pleasure of Praise
PRAY: Bless the Lord, oh my soul and all that is within me! Lord, I want to say “Thank You” for loving me so much that You suffered and died for me: Me, who was helpless! Me, who would have died without knowing Your kind of real, lasting love! I’m just beginning to know just how wonderful You are. Help me to show my deep appreciation and thankfulness to You. May I learn how to truly praise You! I yearn to be intimate with You and know You more. Thank You that You are already answering this prayer, in Jesus’ Name, amen!

NEVER FORGET HOW CLOSE YOU WERE:
Before you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior you were one breath away from being in the worst pain you could ever experience – it would be forever and ever (John 6:36). You were that close!

However, when you realized if you died without God living inside of you, you would be separated from Him forever (Rev.20:15). But you heard the message that God (Jesus) was punished for all of your sins (past, present & future). You turned from your old life and trusted in Jesus’ sacrifice for you.

You believed and received with all of your heart that Jesus was now your Savior and Lord (John 1:12; Rom.10:9,10). At that very moment God came into you to live in your spirit (Rom.8.16). You had passed from spiritual death (being separate from God forever) to life (God living inside of you now and forever John 5:24). You had been birthed as God’s spiritual baby (John 3:3; 1Pet.1:23).

You didn’t know much but you felt a peace inside of you. You knew, you now belonged to God’s family. Something new had happened (John 10:28,29). There was a new desire that you had never truly felt before.

As a human baby desires the milk of its mother so also a newborn spiritual baby desires spiritual milk. You will have a new desire to begin to see old sin attitudes changed.

  1. Peter 2:1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
  2. AS NEWBORN BABES, DESIRE THE PURE MILK OF THE WORD, THAT YOU MAY GROW thereby,
  3. if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

You had a new desire to know more about this wonderful God who brought you into His “forever family”! This new desire was drawn to the Word of God as a human baby is drawn to milk from its mother.

This new spiritual baby had a desire to know how to thank this passionate God who gave His life for me. This new desire keeps wondering, “What can I do to show the Lord how much I love and appreciate Him?”

  1. Shabbat Shalom Carmen and family!
This reminded me of one of the letters to the churches in Revelation 2:4 "Nevertheless I have [somewhat] against thee, because thou hast left thy first love."

I believe Yeshua is our first love in the above verse.
Matt 24:12 says "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."
the next verse makes it clear it not "just" the world whose love has grown cold, because He is telling "us" to endure~
Mat 24:13 "But he that shall endure unto the
end, the same shall be saved."

    Great Post as always Carmen!
    Have a blessed day!!
    Shabbat Shalom,
    Moira
